Reminiscent of the classic Mexican-style butcher shop, Carniceria La Carreta is famous for its Mexican inspired seasoned carne asada, seasoned chicken, daily made salsas and guacamole, carnitas, chicharones, birria, menudo, and much more. The Diaz family is truly an exemplary rag to riches story. Luis, the youngest of 9 children, came from a very poor family. He was raised by his mother after the loss of his father at the tender age of six. His mother showed Luis the true value of hard work and perseverance. Maria too came from a very poor family. She was the seventh child of fourteen. At the young age of fourteen, Maria was left to tend to her seven younger siblings while her parents came to the United States to find a better life. Both Luis and Maria’s struggles at such a young age instilled good working habits and a drive to better themselves. On April 22, 1999, Carniceria La Carreta was born. In a couple of years, Carniceria La Carreta went from having one employee to having 25 employees. Luis and Maria Diaz have always made freshness, quality, and great customer service their top priority. These high standards of quality and service and a strong work ethic have been the keys to the store's success and are the reason for the strong loyalty between Carniceria La Carreta and its customers.

And now that they’ve gotten older, the next generation of the Diaz family is playing a bigger role in the day-to-day operations of the business. Having grown up helping their parents turn their dream into a thriving local establishment, they know the family business well and have what it takes to move forward and make the store more successful than ever.
