Oven Baked Country Style Pork Ribs and Homemade Cornbread

HOMEMADE CAJUN RUB INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Tablespoon of Kosher Salt

  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon of Paprika

  • 1 Teaspoon of Dried Oregano

  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper

  • 1 Teaspoon of Black Pepper

  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Dried Thyme

  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder

  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Onion Powder

COUNTRY STYLE PORK RIBS INGREDIENTS

  • 2 1/2 Pounds of Country Style Pork Ribs

  • 3 Teaspoons of Cajun Seasoning

  • 1 Medium White Onion, Sliced

  • 1/2 Cup of BBQ Sauce

HOMEMADE CORNBREAD INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Cup of All-Purpose Flour

  • 1 Cup of Yellow Cornmeal

  • 2/3 Cup of Granulated Sugar

  • 1 Teaspoon of Salt

  • 3 1/2 Teaspoons of Baking Powder

  • 1/3 Cup of Melted Butter

  • 1 Large Egg

  • 1 Cup of Milk

PREPARATION

CAJUN SEASONING

First, we’ll begin with the cajun seasoning. It’s very simple, all you have to do is combine the ingredients!

Step 1. In a small bowl, combine the the cajun seasoning ingredients and mix well:

  • 1 Tablespoon of Kosher Salt

  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon of Paprika

  • 1 Teaspoon of Dried Oregano

  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper

  • 1 Teaspoon of Black Pepper

  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Dried Thyme

  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder

  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Onion Powder

OVEN BAKED COUNTRY STYLE PORK RIBS

Step 1. Go ahead and pre-heat your oven, setting it at 325º F.

Step 2. Line a shallow baking pan with tinfoil and then coat the foil with oil or spray the tinfoil with nonstick cooking spray.

Step 3. Pat the country style ribs with paper towels to dry.

Step 4. Rub the cajun seasoning over all sides of the ribs.

Step 5. Arrange the ribs on the baking pan and then top the ribs with the white onion slices.

Step 6. Cover the ribs with another piece of tinfoil and place in the oven for an hour and fifteen minutes, or until the ribs are tender.

Step 7. After the ribs are tender, remove the top piece of tinfoil and brush the ribs with your choice of BBQ sauce.

Step 8. Place the ribs back in the oven uncovered to bake for an additional fifteen minutes, or broil for about two-to-three minutes for a crisp exterior.

Step 9. Serve your ribs and enjoy!

HOMEMADE CORNBREAD

Step 1. Grease your cast iron skillet and preheat your oven to 400º F.

Step 2. In a medium mixing bowl, add the ingredients and whisk to combine.

Step 3. Create a small hole in the center of your ingredients and add your butter, milk, and egg; stir and until the mixture comes together.

Step 4. Pour the batter into the skillet and bake for twenty to twenty-five minutes until the top is a golden brown.

Step 5. Serve hot with butter and honey to taste.
